Key Information


The ICBIB Doctoral Symposium welcomes submissions from doctoral candidates working in the field of Business Information Systems. The doctoral symposium allows doctoral students to discuss and obtain feedback on their preliminary research work from experienced researchers. In addition, the doctoral symposium will offer keynotes provided by experts in supervising PhD students and examining doctoral theses to guide students to successfully complete their doctoral journey.

Please note that while this doctoral symposium is part of the 2019 International Conference on Big Data in Business (ICBIB) being held on October 29th and 30th, 2019, the registration process and fee is separate.

Who should attend?
We encourage submissions from doctoral students and researchers. Authors, whose extended abstracts are accepted, will have the opportunity to present their work during the doctoral symposium and obtain feedback and will be asked questions by the experts as well as other doctoral researchers attending on the day.

You will gain:

  •  • An opportunity to present your PhD research work (at any stage) and obtain feedback from key experts in the field
  •  • An opportunity to gain an insight on the successful doctoral research from the students, supervisors and examiners’ perspectives
  •  • Exposure to other doctoral students’ research and learning from their experience


Key Dates
Doctoral students to submit a 500-600 words abstract to https://icbib.org/Home/ViewContent?name=SubmitYourPaper. The extended abstract should summarise the research problem, aims, methods, contributions and relevancy of the research topic.
